During the journey, the sea stories unveil a young man, like many born in the 1940s, who faced that period in their lives when the expectations of family and friends didn't match those of the individuals and they found themselves searching for a direction in their life. The obligation to serve their country created during the years of the "Selective Service" or "Draft" had a way of influencing their plans and directions. For most, it was an obligation that was fulfilled and they moved on with their lives.
