Journalist and co-founder of Salon.com Laura Miller hosts this especially compelling episode of Symphony Space’s Thalia Book Club series, featuring British literary superstar Zadie Smith, whose award-winning books include White Teeth, On Beauty, and the recently published NW, a stylistically experimental novel about a chance encounter between four London residents, and the disparate lives they live.

This audio event features a reading of an excerpt from On Beauty, after which Miller and Smith engage in a stimulating intellectual discussion about writing, and particularly about Smith’s aesthetic sensibilities, and the work she produces.
