Forest Row in the Weald is the scene of a gruesome harpoon murder, and a young police inspector, Stanley Hopkins, asks Holmes, whom he greatly admires as a mentor, for some help. Reseñas editoriales

"The Adventure of Black Peter" is the only short story from Arthur Conan Doyle's third collection that sees Sherlock Holmes hurling harpoons and disguising himself as a seaman. Hence it is clearly one of his finest works. There is even a Holmes fan club in Missouri called "The Harpooners of the Sea Unicorn", inspired by an entity in this mysterious tale.

No story from Doyle's canon would be complete without Watson's narration, and in "Black Peter" Holmes' beloved associate is brought to life by the late Edward Raleigh. Raleigh's beautiful accents, magnificent range, and ability to disappear into the background make him a performer worthy of his captain's chest worth of narration awards.
