What's it take to be a Vietnam helicopter pilot and what happens when Vietnam veteran combat helicopter pilots return to Vietnam? The 61st AHC goes back to Vietnam in 2009 and builds a library learning center in Bong Son near LZ English, by joining up with the Library of Vietnam Project. And some members go back every year!
A "feel good" story about the Vietnam War and a unique perspective on that experience.
Reseñas de la crítica
Phil Marshall, former president of the Vietnam Helicopter Pilots Assoc.: "I especially enjoyed Ken's humor and keen insight into how the "system" worked in Vietnam. For example, "Promotion came fast in Vietnam, just stay alive." "The Amazing Adventures...." is not so much about "War Stories" as it is a book about what we can do for the Vietnamese people now.
Jay Bremyer, lawyer, consultant, and author of "The Chymical Cook", emotes, "I sincerely wish this book could be read by every high school senior in the country, it's funny, heartwarming, real and frank and challenging...embraces our ignorance and haplessness in the face of forces way beyond our control....encourages us to make the best of it, to value that part of what we're doing that is good, and to build on that all of our lives.....,
Marlin Fitzwater, presidential spokesperson for both Presidents Bush and Reagan and author of "Call The Briefing", and several other books calls it, "a terrific story and a serious book that will be read and enjoyed by thousands..... "I read the first half of "Whop!" the first day and could not put it down" A wonderful tribute to your family, friends and comrades."
