Arthur Conan Doyle>/b> (1859 – 1930) was a Scottish writer and physician. Although he also had an affinity to writing fantasy and science fiction, he is most famous for creating the legendary detective Sherlock Holmes. His crime fiction is still widely read, adapted and studied to this day.
Maurice Leblanc (1864 – 1941) was a French journalist, novelist and short story writer. He was primarily known for inventing the fictional thief Arsène Lupin, often considered the French counterpart to Sherlock Holmes.
