"The Asset" is a captivating historical fiction, serving as a sequel to the author's debut novel, "The Operative," which delved into the Western intelligence agencies' efforts in Iraq and Afghanistan, including the pursuit of Osama Bin Laden. Set amidst the backdrop of Venezuela's tumultuous 2002 coup attempt, the narrative immerses listeners in a world of clandestine operations and international intrigue. Following French DGSE agent Angelique and her U.S. SOPS counterpart Michael, the story unfolds as they undertake a perilous mission, “Operation Poison Pabellon” to overthrow President Hugo Chavez. Against the backdrop of real-world events in Caracas, "The Asset" intricately weaves suspense as the characters, alongside MI6, CIA, and Mossad operatives, navigate the complexities of regime change in Venezuela. With each twist, the stakes heighten, blurring the line between the pursuit of democracy and serving their governments' interests. Rich in historical detail and pulse-pounding action, the novel promises an immersive experience, offering listeners a journey where loyalty is tested, secrets abound, and the fate of nations hangs in the balance.
