 Go walk about in the historic city of York. This tour starts at St Helen's Square, besides Betty Tea Shop. See the Mansion House, Assembly Rooms, and York Art Gallery - which illustrates some of the city's rich cultural heritage. Hear of ghost stories and intrigue at the King's Manor, and then more of York's history in the Museum Gardens and at the Yorkshire Museum. Cross the River Ouse via Lendel Bridge and hear about the Rowntree confectionery empire. Walk back over Ouse Bridge; discover why Clifford's Tower gained infamy and where highwayman Dick Turpin ended his days. Uncover the remains of Viking York and the Jorvik Centre. See the Merchant Adventurers' Hall and stroll along the Shambles, reputedly Europe's best preserved Medieval street - with its own tale of martydom. Visit Holy Trinity Church, and then scale the city walls at Monk Bar. This tour concludes at the magnificent York Minster.
