Master storyteller Edgar Allan Poe presents one of his most disturbing tales in "The Black Cat". After the unstable narrator gouges out his cat's eye in a flash of rage, he is filled with remorse, which soon turns back to wrath. The narrator hangs his cat from a tree, but this is not the last the narrator will hear from his wronged pet.... John Chatty has a voice ideally suited to Edgar Allan Poe's doom-and-gloom tone. Chatty's deep voice emerges as if from within an echoing cave. With hypnotic pacing and flawless diction, Chatty ensures that Poe's words are as haunting as any ever said.
