A religious thriller: A jaded professor of religion and an evangelical work together to stop a serial killer - the timeless tale of an unlikely pair joining forces in a common cause and finding themselves transformed along the way.
The plot: Several people have had a near-death experience in which they learn that Christian Fundamentalist beliefs are based on a misinterpretation of Biblical events. These revelations are so sensational and persuasive that 60 Minutes plans to air the story. But just days before the broadcast, the individuals to be featured begin to meet very real deaths, one after another.
Professor of religion Bill Miner and evangelical Victoria Johnson vacillate between heated religious arguments and romantic sparks as they try to stop a killer convinced he’s obeying the will of God.
The Dragon of God wrestles with questions bitingly pertinent in today’s world where doctrine can justify hatred and hatred can turn lethal:
- Why do good people do bad things in the name of religion?
- Why are science and religion so hostile to each other?
- Where does humanity come from, and where are we headed?
