It has been five years since Justus lost his father. On the eve of his thirteenth birthday, when the community ceremonially plans to deem him a man, tragedy strikes. Forced to flee his home, family, and everything he has ever known, The Evolution of Justus is a City of Refuge story filled with destructive anger toward God and one boy's struggle to become a man. Can a boy become a man without a father? Or will tragedy be his demise before his chance to rise? How does one process the loss of innocence caused by traumatic events? Will Justus examine his heart of hate, anger, and derision to find freedom, or remain forever stunted by the tragedies of his youth?
Set in the 13th century B.C., just one generation after entering the Promised Land, The Evolution of Justus follows the heartwarming story of Justus Bar Yasha as he navigates the stages of grief and vows never to trust Yahweh again. Filled with touching revelations and surprising humor, The Evolution of Justus will educate and inspire anyone who listens to it.
