Acerca de este título

In New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author Rachel Hauck's The Fifth Avenue Story Society, a group of strangers receive an invite from an unknown sender, summoning them to an old library. Surrounded by books, they are compelled to share their own stories and from each other, learn important lessons about love, forgiveness, and hope.

"Examining how the tales we tell have the power to hurt and to heal, Hauck's crossover novel is for both romance and inspirational readers. Its message will resonate with readers long after the last page." --Library Journal starred review

Executive assistant Lexa is eager for a much-deserved promotion, but her boss is determined to keep her underemployed.

Literature professor Jett is dealing with a broken heart, as well as a nagging suspicion his literary idol, Gordon Phipps Roth, might be a fraud.

Uber driver Chuck just wants a second chance with his kids.

Aging widower Ed is eager to write the true story of his incredible marriage.

Coral, queen of the cosmetics industry, has broken her engagement and is on the verge of losing her great grandmother's multimillion-dollar empire.

So, when these five New Yorkers receive an anonymous, mysterious invitation to the Fifth Avenue Story Society, they suspect they're victims of a practical joke. No one knows who sent the invitations or why. No one has heard of the literary society. And no one is prepared to reveal their deepest secrets to a roomful of strangers, yet curiosity and loneliness draw them back week after week to the library, where they begin to share the stories of their hearts--and discover the kind of friendship and love that can mend even the deepest wounds.

Perfect for fans of contemporary Christian fiction with rich characters and heartfelt themes, The Fifth Avenue Story Society invites you to pull up a chair and lose yourself in a tale of hope, redemption, and the ties that bind us.

Reseñas de la crítica

'Narrator Lisa Larsen captures the wonder of five strangers in New York City who receive mysterious invitations to the Fifth Avenue Story Society, held in an upscale library. Coral's elegant diction masks a painful broken engagement. Lexa's bold tones reflect her corporate ambitions. Ed is both a courtly retiree and a grieving widower. Chuck sports a noticeable New York accent and casual speaking style even as he rages over his custody battle. And Jett, about to publish his dissertation, sounds adrift as he questions his divorce from Lexa. Larsen switches seamlessly among characters with a calm, thoughtful narration. Christian themes emerge as each character's past unfolds. Overall, Larsen matches Hauck's charming conceit with a poised delivery.'
