Acerca de este título
The world has changed. It wasn’t the Big Bang, EMP, or comet strike so many had planned for. It was worse because it was so avoidable. After the fighting and chaos and when the political machinations failed, nothing remained but the people. What sprang up resembled the Old West of the 1800s. Law existed in small towns as much as could be prosecuted by a sheriff, a few deputies, a local judge and the townspeople. Outside the towns, travelers operated at their own risk, and the bandits and plunderers knew it.
The Girl had been out of the country when things crashed. It was a short notice trip when her best friend’s father invited them on the corporate jet, making a quick trip to the islands. She expected to be there and back before her parents noticed she was gone and avoid the hassle of a conversation about safety. School had been crazy with protests around the campus and finals approaching. That was two years ago. Days turned into weeks and weeks into months. The island was safe, but her friend’s father began to rule with complete authority. As supplies began to dwindle, he loosened the travel restrictions to bring in some much-needed items. It was the chance the girl had been waiting for. However, the trip didn’t go as planned. Her trek home would be long and perilous, if she could make it.
Goose Truman was broken but on the mend with the help of Kelly, a beautiful woman he had rescued. In turn, she was trying to rescue him. Kelly was urging him to retire and be a gentleman farmer. Yet his former wife Laura’s ghost warned that he had one last mission to fulfill. Goose was the first man tapped to be a Ranger by the governor and later enlisted his friends who called themselves “The Horsemen.”
Who is The Girl? And can she make it home to her family alone?
Who can a young girl trust in a post-apocalyptic world?
Can Goose Truman turn away from a life of revenge and violence?
What is this last mission that the shade of Goose’s insists “will make him whole?”
