Are you one of the 2.5 million managers who have received no or little formal training and how to manage? In 1994, I was that person. It wasn't until almost 12 years later that anyone invested in me and put me into a formal management development program. In those 12 years, I had some highs and deep lows as a manager. I wanted to do my best for my team, and sometimes I would. Sometimes I'd get it very wrong. I learned by trial and error in a haphazard way.
Now, almost 30 years later, I've codified the four behaviors of the best managers into what I call the CODE. I’m not one for long-winded books, Lord knows I’ve wasted hours of my life reading books that could have been condensed into a quarter of their length. This is why this book is short and sweet. It's light on theory and high on proven practicality. Each of the four habits is explained along with simple steps on how to implement it.
Get in; get out; get on with your life. Just please, actually do something different as a result of listening to it. Be the kind of manager that gets remembered and talked about for all the right reasons.
