Acerca de este título
In the friendly suburban neighborhood of Eastwood, twelve-year-old Anthony is always ready for an adventure. With his quick thinking and love for solving problems, he’s the natural leader of his small but determined group of friends: Dominick, a responsible sixteen-year-old with a protective streak; Josiah, an energetic eleven-year-old with a knack for gadgets; and Alana, a sharp-eyed and fearless ten-year-old.
One sunny Saturday morning, the four friends meet at their usual spot, the neighborhood park. Their bikes are neatly parked in the rack, ready for the day’s plans. But those plans change fast when Josiah runs over, staring in disbelief at an empty space.
“Hey…where’s my bike? It was right here this morning!” he cries. As the others gather, they realize it’s not just Josiah’s bike, several others are missing too.
Anthony narrows his eyes. “Looks like we’ve got a mystery on our hands.”
Later that day, they gather in Anthony’s garage, which quickly transforms into their Neighborhood Watch headquarters. Armed with flashlights, walkie-talkies, a clue notebook, and Josiah’s homemade “alert tracker,” they vow to track down the bike thief and return the missing bikes.
Their first investigation takes them back to the park. There, they spot odd tire tracks that don’t match their own bikes, a bent chain lock, and a small backpack left behind. Josiah finds faint writing on it, a name, their first real lead.
With excitement buzzing in the air, they decide to stage a nighttime stakeout. That night, crouched behind the bushes, they wait in tense silence. Every sound makes their hearts pound, until Alana whispers, “Shh… I think I see something moving near the swings!”
Slowly, a shadowy figure appears, and to their surprise, it’s not an older kid or a stranger, it’s a boy no older than eight. When they step out to confront him, the boy admits he wasn’t stealing out of malice. He didn’t have a bike of his own, and all he wanted was to ride with his friends.
