You don't have to be behind bars to have a tough time in prison.
When Dr. Paul Gevers starts working as a prison psychologist in beautiful Cedar Creek, Texas, he is impressed with the orderly running of the institution. But when a scrawny, young inmate named Miguel confidentially reports he is being sexually harassed by a prison gang, Paul discovers the warden might be trying to sabotage his efforts to help.
Meanwhile Lilah, his newfound girlfriend, has put him on notice that she expects him to stand up for the downtrodden, and winning her heart could require doing things he knows he shouldn't. His investigation yields secrets that shake him to the core. Now he must risk his career to protect Miguel and somehow change this brutal system from within.
