JP Delaney
When Finn Hensen gets a call from his sister Jess to say their father has died, neither is heartbroken. Their parents divorced many years ago, after which their father, Jimmy, continued to live a bohemian lifestyle in sun-soaked Mallorca, while his family returned to the UK.
Ownership of his home, a beautiful but dilapidated farmhouse in the mountains, now passes to Finn and his sister. The only problem is that Jimmy recently remarried for the third time, and his new wife, Ruensa, is still living there.
The pair agree that Finn should go to Mallorca and tactfully take possession of their inheritance. When he arrives, however, Finn is surprised to find that Finca Siquia has been completely transformed into a chic Mediterranean bolthole by Ruensa - along with her twenty-seven-year-old daughter, Roze. The Spanish police, meanwhile, are asking awkward questions about Jimmy's death . . . Are Ruensa and Roze the helpless victims of circumstance? Or will they stop at nothing to get Finca Siquia for themselves?

Reseñas de la crítica
I loved it. JP Delaney has a gift for the unputdownable story ... One twist in particular left me open-mouthed. Brilliant stuff. This'll be in a lot of holiday luggage come the summer
A characteristically unsettling thriller with an unreliable narrator who reels you in and a twist that made me pivot. With its sultry Mallorcan setting and du Maurier allusions, this is a summer read which exudes menace and is crying out for a TV adaptation
Mysterious, suspenseful, and suffused with paranoia; I read The New Wife in one sitting, and I couldn't put this sinister book down
Charming and engrossing from the outset, but with a creeping and deeply unsettling sense of menace. I loved the Du Maurier vibes
The tension ratchets up to boiling point in this sun-soaked sizzler about a man struggling to do what's right when everything around him is very wrong
Like Daphne du Maurier he sustains the ambiguity deftly and deliciously - whenever a resolution looks imminent, a new development preserves the enigma
Such a phenomenal summer holiday read. Think The White Lotus meets The Housewives of Beverly Hills . . . this is a gripping and sophisticated thriller that will have you racing through the pages
A sun-soaked, pacy beach read
Fast-paced and exhilarating, you'll be hooked!
Another terrific book from a first-class writer
Thrilling
Another winner from J P Delaney
Finn must decide whether the duo are victims of circumstance or utterly ruthless in this tense, twisty thriller
As accomplished as du Maurier and just as unsettling (Cara Hunter)
Captivating, disturbing, and shocking . . . I enjoyed every minute of it
The king of psychological thrillers . . . Delaney's labyrinthine plotting again keeps the reader guessing, with twists and turns in plentiful supply. Gripping to the very end, The New Wife is a compelling and brilliant read
Gripping
Subtle, beguiling, twisted
An addictive read
