The title of “Pastor” for so-called church leaders has widely been overused. In fact, Pastors may be the most misunderstood of all the fivefold offices. In their newest handbook on the fivefold offices, Tiffany and Kirk bring us revelation from Jesus regarding the role of Pastor in the end times church.

The Lord says that His Pastors are given His heart for His people. “They are truly good shepherds like their Master: The Good Shepherd. My Pastors listen closely to the words of My Apostles and Prophets because through their words, they create a safe atmosphere for My sheep to thrive.

Pastors always pastor because it is who they are. Wherever they are, in any house church, their desire will be to ‘pastor’ because pastoring is not a gift they have, it is their heart, who they are.

In My Church, I choose My Pastors. In My Church, My Pastors are not on a stage looking for applause and the accolades of men. They are not at the head of a board, making decisions for a group of people. Nor do they desire these things.

My Pastors are true shepherds who love Me and care about My sheep. They are humble and submitted to My Apostles and Prophets.”

Jesus’ pastors in the end times church will look completely different from so-called pastors in the past institutional churches. They will not be paid (hired hands). They will not try to control the people. They will not lord their authority over the people. They will not try to gain more and more people or more and more money. Like the Good Shepherd (Jesus), they will lay their lives down for the sheep as they guard them, protect them, nurture them, and make sure they are fed and watered with the very best food, as handed down by the apostles and prophets. The authority Jesus gives them to do their task is great, and they will use it in love and humility.
