‘This hill, though high, I covet to ascend; The difficulty will not me offend.’

One of the most popular books in the English language, with over 1,300 editions being published since its initial publication, The Pilgrim’s Progress is a profound religious allegory that influenced the likes of Hogarth, Dickens, Brontë and more.

First published in 1678, The Pilgrim’s Progress is a tale of faith and perseverance. It follows Christian, an ordinary man burdened by sin, as he leaves his home and embarks on a perilous journey to the Celestial City. Along the way, he faces fearful temptations, dangers and trials – from the Slough of Despond to the Valley of the Shadow of Death – meeting vivid characters like Evangelist, Faithful and Hopeful who help him stay true to the right path. Deeply affecting, Bunyan’s timeless story is a powerful spiritual guide about how to honour one’s faith and the path to salvation. This audiobook edition is beautifully read by Mark Meadows.

John Bunyan (1628 – 1688) was an English writer. A religious man, Bunyan was a devout Christian, and much of his work consisted of expanded sermons and Christian allegory. He remained a popular writer throughout his lifetime, and is widely read to this day.
