A village haunted by old ghosts, and a detective with ghosts of his own.
In the spring of 2017, DI Harcourt is called to the village of Castle Upton to investigate the death of Andrew Patch, only to find eerie traces of an unsolved crime from 40 years earlier.
The more he digs, the more personal the case becomes, as the village’s secrets entangle with his own unresolved past.
With his boss - Superintendent Hunter-Wright - embroiled in a mystery of his own, can an unlikely ally help Harcourt untangle the truth before another tragedy strikes?
Who holds the final piece of the puzzle, and why are they staying silent?
Introducing the first in a gripping new crime series set against the shifting landscape of rural Worcestershire. DI Harcourt, a detective with a passion for history and a past that refuses to let go, finds himself unravelling mysteries that strike far too close to home. But he’s not the only one with secrets - his hard-nosed superior, Detective Superintendent Rupert Hunter-Wright -has his own hidden puzzle to solve.
As crime collides with personal history, this character-driven series will keep you questioning where the past ends and the present begins.
