Leroy A. Peters
The second adventure in a brand new Mountain Man series from Leroy A. Peters!
Azariah Hancock is eight years older and wiser, and much in love with his lovely wife, Sweet Grass, and their two young children. At Rendezvous, Azariah and his Arapaho and Cheyenne compatriots hear of women and children who have been kidnapped by a band of ruffians, both white and Indian, to be sold to the Mexicans. They rescue the women, but among them are three Blackfoot—sworn enemies to Azariah's adopted tribe. He Who Walks Tall is a man of honor, however, and he wants to bring the women back to their tribe, at the risk of his own neck. Never one to cower in the face of any man, he and three of his brothers forge ahead into Blackfoot country. Will they survive? Will their honor of returning the women be respected? Back at Rendezvous, it is a nervous time while Azariah's friends and family wait to see if they will return.
