So far I haven't read all of Freida McFadden's books, but out of the ones I've read, this is definitely the one I've liked the least. It felt a little too mild for me.
I actually wish there had been more violence. Which probably says more about me than the book 😅 But because the whole story was centered around a baby, I couldn't help feeling like the author held back a little when it came to making things darker or more bloody. Maybe that's not even the case, but that's the impression I got.
And the ending was way too happy for me. The other three books I've read by her have all had some kind of little twist at the end, so I kept waiting for that "oh shit" moment... and it never came.
Still, it was entertaining and an easy read. Just not my favorite of hers so far.
