When Mr. Tipkins, a gift-giver from the Department of Wishes of Faerie, arrives to give a wish to a newborn baby in the village of Widdershins, he isn't in the best of moods. His uncharacteristic burst of bad temper begins a chain reaction that has consequences no one can foresee.

The Truth About Magic is a story of mistakes and of deception, of wizards (good and bad), and of what happens when perfectly ordinary wishes go wrong.

Reseñas de la crítica

"Another fantasy novel with wizards, wands, magic schools and elves, and this is a good one." ( Magpies Magazine)

Reseñas editoriales

The young adult adventure The Truth About Magic, narrated in jolly Scottish refrain by Stanley McGeagh, concerns Mr. Tipkins, a "gift giver" (i.e. elf wizard), who had to deliver a "gift" to a new baby, Alan.

Unfortunately, Tipkins was in the middle of one really bad day. It was a long and uncomfortable journey to find the baby (Tipkins flying carpet was out of commission - he instead having to fly on a cheap cushion) and when he finally did arrive, a final minor slight led Timpkins to lose his temper. And wizards with tempers should be avoided at all costs.

As a result, Timpkins gave baby Adam a much more powerful gift than intended. Oops.
