Silentfall: The Vanishing begins on an ordinary morning in the Hudson Valley. Jasmine Lewis is making blueberry pancakes, calling upstairs to her daughter, and moving through the familiar chaos of family life when the world shifts beneath her feet. A wave of vertigo passes. The room steadies. And then everyone is gone.

No bodies. No warning. No explanation.

Her husband. Her children. Her neighbors. The voices on television. The people in the cars left standing in the road. All vanished, leaving behind homes, meals, phones, lights, stores, roads, and a silence too large to understand.

At first, Jasmine does what survival demands. She searches. She calls. She gathers food, water, fuel, and tools. She tries to make sense of a world that still physically exists but no longer answers. But survival alone is not the same as living, and isolation becomes its own kind of threat.

Then Jasmine finds Cal Brewster.

Cal is older, practical, wounded by his own losses, and just as desperate not to be the last living person on earth. Together, they begin the difficult work of staying alive in a world built for people who are no longer there. They learn what can still be used, what is already failing, and what grief becomes when there is no one left to witness it.

But The Vanishing is not only a story of loss. It is the first fragile movement toward hope.

Jasmine and Cal begin leaving signs for anyone still out there, turning abandoned roads and empty buildings into messages for the living. In Beacon, they imagine a place survivors might find, a public refuge where food, water, help, and a human voice might still be waiting.

Because in the silence after the impossible, the most dangerous thought is that no one else survived.

And the first act of rebuilding is answering back.
