An Anglo-Saxon Saga epic in both scope and imagination.
Wrongfully accused of his fathers murder, Osric is forced to flee his homeland, barely escaping with his life. He vows to return one day in vengeance and reclaim his birthright as King of the East Angles.
Determined to make good on his word, Osric makes allies and enemies along the way, finding friendship in the most unlikely of places, starting with a youthful farrier and a Thief who was a companion to Beowulf. He encounters elves and witches, giants and dwarfs, finding love and heartbreak. His adventures bring him to the attention of the Gods themselves, but will that prove to be his salvation, or his downfall?
A novel that introduces us to a hero worth rooting for, skilfully blending historical fact with pulsating fantasy to conjure a full-blooded saga of times gone by; a Darker Age before the advent of Christianity, when giants still walked the land and a passing dragon might darken the sky...
