Wandering through Indianapolis one weekend, amateur sleuths Geneva Pomolo and Iris Reeves visit a local jewelry store owned by Derek Wattle and his girlfriend, Estelle Landliner. Within 24 hours of their visit, Estelle is dead, Derek is a suspect, and Geneva and Iris plunge once again into a mystery with no easy answers.
Their investigation takes them into the heart of Indianapolis’ criminal underworld - into a world of money laundering, jewel thefts, and shady accounting; a world where aging rock stars will do anything to wring one last dollar out of their dwindling audiences; a world where a man can be killed in a parking garage in the middle of the day; a world where an amateur train enthusiast can disappear from existence without raising an eyebrow.
As the murders multiply and the case becomes ever thornier and more twisted, Geneva and Iris must race to catch a killer before he kills again, knowing that every step may be bringing them closer to death.
