Acerca de este título

These classic crank phone calls from the mid 1970s pit the elderly but vicious Louis "Red" Deutsch, a former heavyweight boxer and owner of the Tube Bar in Jersey City, against persistent local pranksters The Bum Bar Bastards. Also pranked are Tom, the proprietor of a local Italian grocery store who explains the many uses for salami and other deli meats, and Judy, a sassy bartender whose concern for maternal copulation will touch even the most ardent cynic.

Reseñas editoriales

Gritty, gravel-voiced Jersey City bartender Louis "Red" Deutsch - a former heavyweight boxer - finds himself the oblivious recipient of a series of crude crank calls in this ribald romp. A group of local pranksters known as the Bum Bar Bastards taunt and torment the foul-mouthed barkeep, as they ask to speak with oddly named pub patrons such as "Al Killue" and "Izzy Cumming", among the less lurid examples. Perhaps even more than the crank calls themselves, Deutsch’s violent and vulgar tirades against his tormentors make for a powerful punch line. Recorded in the 1970s, these pub pranks would serves as the inspiration for Matt Groening’s running Simpsons gag, in which Bart would famously phone in dirty double-entendres to unwitting and irascible bartender Moe Szyslak.
