Carla Henry-Lewis
In this modern, poetic twist on a beloved classic, Carla Henry-Lewis and her granddaughter, Elizabeth Lewis, take listeners on a journey through the anticipation, hope, and determination of election night. Set against the backdrop of the 2024 U.S. election, this heartfelt book captures the emotional pulse of a nation standing at a crossroads.
With wit and wisdom, the authors weave a story that resonates with listeners of all ages, reflecting the values of democracy, the importance of civic engagement, and the power of every vote. Drawing from a rich heritage that spans African American, Caribbean-American, Haitian, and Jewish roots, the authors remind us that our voices matter and that the fight for justice and equality is ongoing.
Perfect for families to listen to together, this inspiring poem is a call to action for all generations to honor the past, protect the present, and shape the future. As Carla and Elizabeth eloquently remind us, “We Are Not Going Back.”
Whether you're an ardent supporter of democracy or just looking for an engaging way to discuss current events with young listeners, ’Twas The Night Before The Election is a must-listen that celebrates the spirit of resilience and the hope for a brighter tomorrow.
