Bob Dylan’s music drifts out of Tom Patterson’s computer speakers, at once ethereal and down to Earth. As he listens, Tom’s mind drifts back to the 1960s and Dianne, the girl who left him for California. Tom could have—should have—gone with her, but he chose his new job in Ohio. And that was that.
