John, who works as an undertaker and possesses a calm and composed demeanor. He takes great pride in providing comfort and closure to the families of the deceased despite the challenging and often somber nature of his job. John's routine involves preparing the deceased for their final resting place by conducting home visits, meeting with families, and handling administrative tasks.
As we delve deeper into his story, we discover an underlying sense of mystery and supernatural occurrences surrounding his work. This mystery and supernatural presence intensify as the book progresses, leading to a climax where John must confront a dark and powerful entity with the help of his colleagues and the families he has served.
