My name is Evilyn Strogovanna.
I am a vampire, and I am also something completely different.
I would like to tell you of my embrace.
When vampires are embraced it changes the nature of their physiology as well as the nature of their perceptions. We grow stronger, faster, and our senses are sharpened. But we also begin to view the world differently, with one commonality among us all: The sweetest, most loving person will still become a ruthless killer, indifferent to mercy or the loss of life.
We don’t do this because we are evil, we do it because we are hungry, much like we used to be before our embrace.
I used to think of the moment I was turned into a vampire as my embrace. But as I’ve gotten older, and wiser, I’ve come to learn that there are many small moments for us all that shape who we become.
So come with me now, as we journey through the spaces between the moments, and see how a little girl grew up to become a vampire, and how that vampire grew up to become the Queen of death.
