Doctor Callum Murray loves his work in creating prosthetic devices for patients suffering from accidents, birth defects and unsuccessful surgeries. To improve their usefulness, he designs a new computer chip that can be implanted in the brain to make muscular responses more synchronized with his prosthetic limbs. When he is introduced to artificial intelligence, he attempts to link the new technology to his work but soon becomes involved with a mutated sequence of code that has no compunction for murdering humans.

Phoenix Grant is a smart police detective that senses foul play within the digital world when a fatality occurs in his jurisdiction caused by a GPS failure. He solicits the assistance of Harper Mason, a friend with a technical background in artificial intelligence to help him find the virtual murderer. Together, they recruit others to help but soon experience new unexplainable developments and additional murders.

Can Phoenix and Harper locate the killer in time to avoid another murder? Will Doctor Murray avoid being convicted of being an accessory to the murders? Follow the "cat and mouse" chase to find the digital killer across the invisible world of the internet and witness two friends become more than friends.
