In the North, a lanky lawyer named Abraham Lincoln was recovering from a brutal political setback. In the South, eloquent U.S. Senator Jefferson Davis was risking all in a race for governor of his native Mississippi. And far to the Southwest, the future of the frontier was being decided as the U.S. Army, under Colonel Bull Moose Sumner, faced the growing alliance of Native Americans led by the great Mangas Coloradas and determined to defend their ancestral lands.
For First Lieutenant Nathanial Barrington it was his first test as a professional soldier following orders he distrusted in an undeclared war without conscience or quarter - and his test as a man when he met the Apache woman warrior Jocita in a night lit by passion that would yield to a day of dark decisions…War Eagles.
The tremendous second novel of the authentic Apache Wars Saga epic series that began with Desert Hawks.

War Eagles is the second book in Len Levinson's Apache War Saga series. This ambitious historical thriller moves effortlessly across the country, from the high-stakes political arena of the Northeast, to the pre-Civil War South where a rebellion is brewing, all the way to the bloody unconquered plains of the American West. Bill Quinn's performance illuminates the lives of a multitude of different characters. Quinn’s voice shows great depth. It is remarkable that he is able to capture the voices ranging from a scared Union soldier to a landed southern gentleman to a brave female Apache fighter.
