What defines a Faithful? Do the angels earn their halos from the Kingdom of Heaven through obedience alone? Or do they strive to employ sound judgment and moral strength?

Ilthaliel was created as a seraph but his friendship with the cherubic general Melphax the Strong, known amongst his peers as the Pillar of Iron, brought him out of the comfort zone of his stately choir and introduced him to the rigors and philosophies of Zion’s warrior caste. A pensive gangly angel, at first glance Ilthaliel embodied all that was gallant and smart about Archangel Gabriel’s choir of messengers. Yet he found himself drawn like a moth to a flame to the likes of Melphax and the venerable cherub Ural.

From the angelic host’s Empyreal birth to the fall of the Western Empire and the founding of the Eastern Kingdom, Ilthaliel’s friendship with Melphax is a journey of the heart, mind, and soul. Laden with theological dialectics, harrowing adventures, and brutal combat, Ilthaliel will learn what it means to be a Son of God bearing the mantle of a halo’s holy will.
