Maya walked into the cozy coffee shop, her eyes scanning the room for an empty seat. As luck would have it, there was only one spot available, and it happened to be next to a captivating stranger. His tousled dark hair and piercing blue eyes drew her attention immediately. She took a deep breath, gathering her nerve, and approached him with a smile.

"Excuse me, is this seat taken?" she asked, gesturing to the vacant chair beside him.

The stranger looked up from his notebook, surprised by Maya's sudden presence. He glanced at the empty seat and then back at her. After a momentary pause, he shook his head.

"No," he replied softly, his voice carrying a hint of intrigue.

Maya took the opportunity to introduce herself. "I'm Maya," she said brightly, extending her hand in greeting.

He hesitated for a moment before taking her hand in his own. "Jake," he responded, offering a shy smile.
