Resumen del editor
State of North Carolina vs. Charles Ray Finch is a story that takes us back to the Civil Rights era American South, a tale formed in the cauldron of racial tensions in rural North Carolina that erupts when a white country store owner is gunned down in a robbery.
Before the victim's body reaches the morgue, the local Sheriff's Department already has a suspect in mind: 38-year old Black American Charles Ray Finch. By midnight, Finch is in handcuffs. Invisible from the public eye is the on-going corruption infecting this Sheriff's office: organised crime tied to prostitution, drugs and illegal gambling.
Ray Finch's story stands as evidence of the great powers held by law enforcement and how quickly bad actors will wield these powers to protect their personal interests – even if that means taking an innocent man's life.
