Several years later, beekeepers in the United States found that many of their honey bees had vanished too. Scientists called this disappearance colony collapse disorder (CCD), and at first, no one knew why it was happening.

This is a book about honey bees, about the way they live and organize their colony. As a child, there were always beehives that my father was taking care of in our garden. I have learned to respect and admire these courageous and hard-working insects, the honey bees. I wrote this book for children from 8 to 12, and I hope they will find it entertaining. I also hope they will love and protect honey bees.
