In the alternative timeline of the post-Cuban Missiles War the swinging sixties never happened. "Ask not of your country" is the fourth verse of the American story of Armageddon. To its friends and enemies alike, the United States seems to have emerged from the October War battered, bruised, but invincible. However, 20 months after the cataclysm, terrible wounds remain unhealed, and the nation of liberty is riven by conflict.

It is January 1965 in a world in which the Cuban Missiles Crisis went horribly wrong and the "swinging sixties" never happened. In the United States, a new president has entered the White House; in Britain, the country will shortly be going to the polls for the first time since the October War. But with the return of "normal" politics, there is no return to the "normality" of the old, now-lost world order.

It is February 1964 in a world in which the "swinging '60s" never happened. The atomic mushroom clouds over the Mediterranean have dispersed, and now, as the world teeters on the brink of a new thermonuclear war, it is dawning on the "victors" that their "victory", far from being absolute, was tragically pyrrhic. In the uneasy half-peace, the United States stirs from its post-Cuban Missiles War slumber. But will it awaken soon enough to overcome its own divisions to confront the new and terrible forces unleashed by Red Dawn's first paroxysm of violence?

It is December, 1963, and the tensions that have been simmering since the October war came to a boil in an atmosphere of mistrust and suspicion so poisonous that nobody in England or Washington, DC, realize that in the background, there is a third, malignant force at work.

In the late 2020s and early '30s, corporations managed to render the major governments of the world obsolete. The big corporations owned most of the territories as well as the majority of the world's wealth. While many of the old traditions were still observed in various parts of the world, the true power was with the corporations. In the late '30s, what would be known as the Corporate Wars began as larger companies initiated hostile takeovers in a whole new fashion. Employees, armed with corporate weapons, warred for dominance. On May 1st, 2067, it all ended in a nuclear fire.

The Eureka Bubble is no longer isolated from a world still struggling after the apocalyptic finale to the Corporate Wars. Regaining contact with the outside communities helped cure the problem of dwindling resources, but it also brought new challenges for the Bubblers to overcome. Princess, a.k.a. Kelly Ansen, has already learned first-hand how dangerous this new reality can be—and she barely survived. Recognizing the Bubble holds a wealth of resources compared to most of the world, Princess will stop at nothing to protect her home.

In the years following the catastrophe, the community stabilized and found ways to meet its needs - and even thrive - despite the constant challenges. However, while the radiation zones which created the Eureka Bubble protected the area from the worst ravages of the apocalypse, they also caused severe resource limitations which have become more acute over time and, eventually, the Bubble is going to burst.

The nightmare continues in book three, as Pastor David and his organization are left behind to deal with the aftermath of the horrific blackout. They must maneuver through martial law and a ban on religion, all because he led them astray to cover up his own criminal behavior.

Scientists cloned a prehistoric mammoth that was found in Antarctica two years prior. They cloned the animal cells, trying to create another one, thus causing the deadliest plague to break out known to man, killing half the world's population of humans and domestic animals. The future turned out horrible because of this experiment. Now it is up to these young warriors who must go back in time from the future to change what took place in 1999. One thing that would stand in the way of these courageous warriors is mankind's advancement in technology, meaning artificial intelligence.
