A quarter of a century ago, someone held a match to Greenwood, Texas's cotton. Stephen Graham Jones was 12 that year. Greenwood just leaned forward, pretending that the fire had never happened.

It's 1980 and Neil is a burned-out local musician whose band never made it. He has put his heart and soul into his music for a decade but now has little to show for it except a dozen of tapes of his original music that nobody has ever heard.
