It occurred to me that nothing bad ever happens here. Every human life is perfect in its own way. We cannot understand that, because it seems like there is so much suffering. Joining us at Audible Studios is Heather Morris, an author whose debut novel, The Tattooist of Auschwitz, was a huge success. Morris grew up in New Zealand and has split her adult life between there and Australia. Morris worked in the Social Work Department at Monash Medical Centre in Melbourne from 1995-2017. During this time, Morris decided to pursue her love of storytelling and enrolled in a professional scriptwriting course. In 2003, her life and career path changed. She was introduced to Lale Sokolov, upon whose story she based The Tattooist of Auschwitz.

Joining us in the Audible Studios to talk about her book The Tattooist of Auschwitz is Australian writer Heather Morris. Whilst working as a social work administrator, Heather Morris studied and wrote screenplays. After meeting an elderly man called Lale Sokolov, Heather used his story as inspiration for a screenplay, which has now been published as a novel, The Tattooist of Auschwitz. Heather Morris talks to us about her book, the man who inspired it and what we can expect from her next.
