An acoustic music album. It all started with me wishing to explore the meaning of life and why we are here on this beautiful planet at this time. The intention became producing a book embodying the spirit of those paradigm shifting ambient albums created by a few of the esoterically inclined classical composers and more contemporary artistes and bands over the decades. You feel the experience of A Healing for Gaia.

The story begins with himself as a child and his need to overcome certain challenges in order to live a full life. We hear of those discovering the root causes of their unhappiness or the others recognising that the dramatic turmoil they find themselves in really does afford them the opportunity to do what they always dreamed of. Never has the expression it's darkest before dawn been more relevant than to our lives in this 21st Century!

I sought to look beyond only the beauty of the lakes to explore the arts and heritage upon which the greatness of the county is built. Here we have the stories of people. Both tales of famous Cumbrians or those whose exploits focused the attention of the world on the region; and then sitting alongside are poems telling of ordinary people getting to have their story shared for the first time.

Meet a child mill worker from the 19th century. Live through the freezing chill of winter and a man's desperate journey from Ireland to England in search of work in the 1920's. Dig down into the lives of mine workers down through the ages. Meet two people finding love against all the odds and across class divides, hop-picking in Kent.

I appreciate I am a fortunate person. I love to travel and equally adore writing poems. Happily, I am able to combine the two in many of my poetry collections.
