Inspired and written about places I came to know while living in Cheshire for fifteen years or on my more recent trips back to visit the County. A walk around Chester Walls experiencing echoes of the past, exploring the leafy countryside, a cricket match in Prestbury and a night spent at the Edge in Alderley, finding seclusion amidst the hustle and bustle of urban life, a visit to Tatton one summer’s day, and poetic homages to the rich industrial history and natural beauty of Cheshire.

An acoustic music album. It all started with me wishing to explore the meaning of life and why we are here on this beautiful planet at this time. The intention became producing a book embodying the spirit of those paradigm shifting ambient albums created by a few of the esoterically inclined classical composers and more contemporary artistes and bands over the decades. You feel the experience of A Healing for Gaia.

Dedicated to this beautiful planet on which we all reside and in respect for the only vehicle we have to explore its wonders—our human body. An emotive journey through the landscape and folklore. All the wisdom of our ancient ancestors waiting to be tapped-into. Personal stories of those discovering the wonder of nature to appreciate the gift of life through newly opened eyes.

I sought to look beyond only the beauty of the lakes to explore the arts and heritage upon which the greatness of the county is built. Here we have the stories of people. Both tales of famous Cumbrians or those whose exploits focused the attention of the world on the region; and then sitting alongside are poems telling of ordinary people getting to have their story shared for the first time.

You are invited on a poetic journey of discovery to visit ancient castles; observe life during a day spent sat on a bench looking out to sea in Dover; enjoy the historical city of Chester sauntering around its Roman Wall; take in the scenery alongside picturesque canals; share two legendary world-famous singer's quiet time in a tranquil seaside village; explore ancient stone circles sat upon completely deserted moors; follow in the footsteps of Charles Dickens to visit Bleak House; witness the poet erecting a tent in a field; walk alongside Dean Fraser through all these adventures and more.

Meet a child mill worker from the 19th century. Live through the freezing chill of winter and a man's desperate journey from Ireland to England in search of work in the 1920's. Dig down into the lives of mine workers down through the ages. Meet two people finding love against all the odds and across class divides, hop-picking in Kent.

If you have ever been presented with life's challenges, this book was written for you. These poetic tales reach into the heart and soul of all who encounter them and every uplifting tale related in this book is absolutely true. They speak of the human experience; they talk of overcoming sometimes extreme challenges and most of all to trust keep on keeping on until we get the desired result from life. I appreciate I am a fortunate person. I love to travel and equally adore writing poems. Happily, I am able to combine the two in many of my poetry collections.
