Johannes Hornoff wird Zeuge eines Unfalls, bei dem eine junge Frau von einem Auto frontal erfasst wird. Als er versucht, die Schwerverletzte wiederzubeleben, fallen ihm mehrere signifikante Verletzungen auf, die nicht von dem Zusammenprall stammen können. Der Frau fehlen nämlich beide Augen, und an ihrem Hals klafft ein tiefer Schnitt, wie von einem Messer. Sie erliegt ihren Verletzungen und stirbt noch vor Ort. Nach einiger Zeit stößt die Polizei auf ein nacktes Mädchen, das in Klarsichtfolie eingewickelt und wie der Kokon einer riesigen Spinne an der Decke aufgehängt war.
