Samuel Eliot Morison (July 9, 1887 - May 15, 1976) was an American historian noted for his works of maritime history and American history that were both authoritative and popular.

This is a memoir of a boy born in 1926 in a small seaside town on the northwest coast of England who grew up in pre-and wartime Britain and who recalls, in this account, his many adventures before, during, and after the conclusion of World War II. Despite the subject matter, her account is full of amusing anecdotes as she makes her way alone from Concord, Massachusetts to DC, trying to finagle a free ticket and convinced she will drown during the journey.

The Mystery of the Casement Ship recounts one of the most extraordinary and explosive episodes of the Irish Easter Rising. In 1916, working with the Irish revolutionary Sir Roger Casement, Germany sent a captured British merchant ship disguised as a Norwegian tramp steamer named the Aud to Ireland to deliver guns and ammunition to rebels planning the Easter uprising.

Carter Godwin Woodson (December 19, 1875-April 3, 1950) was an American historian, author, journalist, and the founder of the Association for the Study of African American Life and History (ASALH). He was one of the first scholars to study the history of the African diaspora, including African American history. A founder of The Journal of Negro History in 1916, Woodson has been called the “father of black history."
