This is a travel book with a difference, this is a poetic journey across two continents, visiting as diverse places as the giant metropolises of Manhattan, Amsterdam and London, right down to the tiny traffic-free Channel Island of Sark!

Poems Less Spoken tells of travel not exactly going according to plan and the ensuing misadventures, cultural discovery sending the poet to sleep, how he unwittingly became an unwilling model, observing city life illuminated on a Friday night by a full moon, getting mistaken for Paul (whoever he is!) and also a Scottish person, we get a gratis lesson in speaking Croatian and finish off the book with a film-noir short story.

These tales have been inspired and written about places I have visited in the evocative Red Rose County and the people I encountered along the way. Some of these are people I have met, others from the past brought to life once again through the power of words. This is a county I have come to know intimately over the decades, my first live poetry shows were right there in Lancashire and I actually lived within the Preston area when writing this collection. I always see my poetic tales as windows offering glimpses into a frozen moment of time, rather like seeds trapped within amber.
