Wizard of Oz creator L. Frank Baum is the brainchild behind this story, which takes a Mother Goose rhyme and develops a tale that helps the rhyme make sense. From a very short poem we are treated to the story of a short man named Jimson who paid more for a duck than he expected.

Classic Grimm Brothers, this tale follows seven young goats that do their best to follow "Mama's" advice while she is away, but wolves can be so devious. The wolf apparently failed to read the script first or he might not have chosen to confront the goats.

Wizard of Oz creator L. Frank Baum created this beloved short story that follows Wolly on a most unusual adventure. Wolly had been captured. Wolly had been stuffed. Wolly could not think. But Wolly's mother wanted a future for her taxidermied son. There was only one among the Alligator People who could help - the Red-Eyed One. There was a fix, but it wouldn't be easy.

In this follow-up to the first of Hugh the series though, Lofting assigns the starring role to Tommy Stubbins who is now an "old man". Ken Holt is the son of a world-famous foreign correspondent named Richard Holt. Holt travels the world and is home infrequently. Ken's mother is no longer alive and Ken lives with the Allen family. One of his closest friends is Sandy Allen. Sandy and Ken both at the Brentwood Advance, a local newspaper. Things start off innocently enough as Ken's father comes to stay with the Allen's for the Christmas holiday. Naturally he brings gifts. For Mom Allen, he has brought an ornate iron box. The box is old but apparently, not very valuable.

As well as writing Treasure Island and Jekyll and Hyde, Robert Louis Stevenson also wrote the perennially popular A Child's Garden of Verses (1885), a collection of poems for younger readers. Many of Stevenson's greatest poems were included in that volume. Award-winning narrator Mike Vendetti recites six of these favorites including "Looking-Glass River", "My Shadow", and "Sing Me a Song of a Lad that is Gone".

"A Visit from St. Nicholas", more commonly known as "The Night Before Christmas" and "'Twas the Night Before Christmas" from its first line, is a poem first published anonymously in 1823 and later attributed to Clement Clarke Moore, who claimed authorship in 1837.

Glenn Hascell narrates this Hans Christian Anderson tale of a very vain little girl more concerned with herself than those who try to help her. She is so vain she pays more attention to her shoes then the sermon in church. The old lady, her benefactor is dying, but Karen chooses to go to a dance in town. Hans Christian Anderson is famous for his morality stories, and there definitely is a moral here. Once again Glenn Hascall takes us there.
