The winter had begun. At Gunnaring Gap, the valiant Riders of Valon began their charge. And though Challerain Keep lay in ruins and butchery had led to the capture of Princess Laurelin, heroes strode forth from the ranks of Men, Elves, Warrows, and Dwarves to turn the tide of doom. And across the land ruled by unnatural dark, freedom flickered and burst into flame...

Ever since Amalric Antero returned from the legendary Far Kingdoms, bringing with him magic and riches, the people of Orissa believed they lived in a golden age. Even Amalric did not suspect the truth: that dark forces from another world threatened his beloved city. Then a beautiful stranger arrived claiming to be the great-granddaughter of Janos Greycloak, master-wizard and betrayer of Amalric’s youth.

Jeffrey Quicksall has finally put the past behind him. He’s worked hard for his outfitter’s license, enjoys guiding off-worlders on safari to hunt dinos, and generally looks forward to spending downtime either at the Safari Club bar in Elstadar City, or camping with his daughter, Kar, who lives at the local boarding school. Until the day dragons attack his mistrigger in legal hunting territory! Suddenly Magistrate Stemoplisen threatens to confiscate his outfitter’s license.

Tuck Underbank is a Warrow -- think a hobbit with shoes and "large jewel-like eyes" -- living in the peaceful Boskydells. When an unnaturally cold winter strikes and the evil Modru threatens the world, he and a number of his fellow Thornwalkers go to the High King's aid. But a vast expanse of lightless blizzard called the Dimmendark (sounds bad, doesn't it?) is spreading over the land, and Tuck soon finds that the "dark tide" is going to swamp them all.

Captain Rali Emilie Antero came from an illustrious family of traders, wizards, and adventurers. But Rali cared little for magic, and even less for journeying. She was a soldier, captain of the elite Maranon Guard, staunch defenders of the majestic city of Orissa. But her family legacy was about to catch up with her.

More than 200 years after the Dark Lord's defeat by the brave alliance of Warrow, human, Dwarf and Elf, evil is again stirring, and man and Dwarf must turn to the small but stalwart Warrows for aid. And thus it is the Peregrin Fairhill and Cotton Buckleburr, keepers of the Silver Horn, find themselves marching with the Dwarf King at the head of a mighty army. They are pledged to lead the way along the almost forgotten path to Kraggen-Cor, legendary realm under the Mountain.

Young, pampered Amalric Antero cared only for real places and possible dreams. But then he met Janos Greycloak, a dashing soldier who dabbled in forbidden magic and who carried on him proof of riches and mysteries beyond imagination. And suddenly Amalric found himself setting out on the adventure of a lifetime, a daring and perilous quest through unknown lands peopled by nightmares, to seek the ultimate in fables... The Far Kingdoms!

In the High Ages, all lands were one until sorcery and hatred ripped them apart. Athgar, last bastion of that fallen civilization, has been brought to the edge of destruction, drained of men and hope in a terrible war caused by a wizard's hunger for vengeance. In his first tumultuous year of a kingship he never wanted, young Herric must prove his right to hold the High Seat of Athgar. With his foreign bride, witch-born Elaine, Herric faces rebellion and centuries of hatred to find a lasting peace.

Bey has abducted Gil's friend and threatens to destroy this world of mystery and magic that the American has made his home. Coramonde's Prince Springbuck sends him south to the accursed lands of Shardishku-Salama, where Yardiff Bey waits to capture and torture him. With the comet Trailingsword hanging in the sky above, Springbuck sets out with his army to save Gil from an enemy that cannot be slain.

Vanquished from his home lands, Santorray has become an enemy to the Kingdom, as well as those who strive to overthrow the current leaders. Santorray retreats to the dark Mythical Forests with hopes of finding some salvation. Unfortunately, the local magical residents of the dark forest see him as a threat to their lands. Thorik has caused the death of the legendary Mountain King, releasing a rift forward through time that will change history forever. With the king dead, the war to free the slaves from the Notarian rulers will never take place, preventing the Dovenar Kingdom from ever existing. Without the strength of the Dovenar Kingdom, the Altered Creatures will most likely become masters of the civilized species. Leading them, the demon Ergrauth will finally be able to eliminate all species that do not obey him.

Thorik is hunted for changing the future and the past, causing mass chaos centuries away from him. To stop these ramifications, E'rudites search for him in hopes of using their powers to prevent his birth and therefore prevent his actions in the first place. Unsure how to evade those pursuing him, Thorik retreats into a city whose citizens live in extreme poverty and are controlled by a cruel overlord. In his attempt to help free them from their plight, he finds he exposes himself and those he cares about to the powers of the E'rudites.

The Kingdom of the Sarianne teeters on the brink. While its tyrant king plays out his petty vendettas, rebellion foments on the edges of his domain. Politics and power struggles gamble civilization on the tides of war. Yet war is not the greatest threat to civilization. A far older enemy rises. The dragons are waking and these fiends of Chaos will swarm across the world of men, razing it to bedrock, just as they have done in ages past. But this time, the world of men has a champion in Daven Carrickson.

Daven Carrickson grew up as a beggar in the filthy alleys beneath the shadows of the palace. He's the son of a known thief, disgraced and despised. His only real talent is his ability with a sword, and his only real chance at finding honor or a home is a desperate dream of joining the King's Guard. Then, Daven receives a new future when Master Claighan invites him to study magic at the Academy. The wizard offers to make him into a new kind of soldier: a swordsman equally skilled with forged blades and mystic forces.

War has finally arrived along with the demons who are planning to take the world back from the humans and other species who have ruled for hundreds of years. Rummon, lord of the dragons, must be resurrected to end the war. But doing this will cause a second war, a war pitting dragons against dragons. This war of dragons, giants, demons, and altered creatures must be stopped before all is lost. It will be up to Thorik and his companions to figure out how to restore peace, assuming it's not too late.

Evil has been driven back into the void from whence it came, and the sister planets, Earth and Abahrazha, have been renewed to soundness. But a new corruption festers to replace the old evil that had plagued humanity. If not met head on, it will plunge the races into darkness from which they will never recover. As an infant, Ar-Lania had been the Destined One - the catalyst to restore the worlds. She, among others, is being called from all the planets. These are the Children of Prophecy, designated to become guardians of the worlds.

Although the Tu-Grik-Ng, with the aid of Tobias and Ak-Malia, had succeeded in protecting their homes, Abahrazha faces an even greater peril. Kalor is now ruled by a madman, who vows to resurrect the ancient and powerful kingdom of Arcalia to exact his vengeance on all of Abahrazha. Yet the prophecies of a dying religion speak of this time when the fate of the world would rest in the hands of a child - one of royal blood and one who would be innocent of the destruction of Kalor.
