Il Medioevo è un tempo ancora poco definito e uno spazio dai confini labili, una dimensione storica scarsamente conosciuta che continua a essere lo specchio deformante del nostro presente: “cose da Medioevo” si dice, come se non appartenessero ai giorni nostri. Per orientarsi in un Medioevo spesso invisibile a occhio nudo, ma che sottende tutta la nostra storia, bisogna quindi immergersi nel passato con un inventario d'autore e seguirne i percorsi, fatti di storie, personaggi, luoghi e intersezioni, cercando di dipanare una fitta trama di false credenze.
