It was a tropical bird Daniel recognized from talking about different types of birds in class, and he knew the little birdie could not withstand the blistering cold for too long.

The Mocking Bird is a story about the very first birds that God created back when time began. When called to the tree in the garden to receive their songs, one feathered character arrived late and missed out completely. The story explains what happened next and why he is called the Mocking Bird.

A little chick breaks out of an egg and meets different animals. She makes mean comments about the way they look. In the end, she gets into trouble and needs to rely on the animals for help....

As I sat in my car on the Hood Canal Bridge in the state of Washington, I watched the seagulls fly and swim in the waters of Hood Canal. Now, I do not like heights, but I do like calm seas. However, I could not imagine surviving as a seagull, flying, diving, and swimming in the waters to survive. No way! So in talking with the ladies at the salon, I was going on and on about this, and they thought I should write a book about Bonnie, the seagull that wouldn't fly. So here it is.
