The name's Burnside, and I always get the weird cases. I built my detective career taking down the strangest bad guys in Earth Sector. No matter how crazy the case, I always managed to get it off the books. After 20 years of pounding my beat, I was ready to pack it in, and I'd called it a day. Then these killings started, weird to the point of freaked-out PD Chiefs, and only one person who fit the case. So much for retirement. The story I'm going to tell you covers two years of my life, and took me from one end of human space to the other.

"All good heroes are insane." Was that really a joke? Jonathon Hunter hasn't the time to ponder the labels people try to put on him. The war shifts from defensive to offensive. The stakes get higher, as the means to fight the aggressors finally become available. But has he risen too high? Or are the consequences of his own actions interfering with his judgement? As fast as you move, the past is faster and always catches up with you when you least expect it. This is not a game, and being a hero has its own price tag. 

Thorn is back! The guilty will be punished. The war they dismissed as nonsense is now raging. Jen needs Thorn. The military want Thorn. Thorn is older and wiser, and he doesn't care what anyone wants. He has a better hold on his growing power, or so he thinks. The war calls, but there is unfinished business to attend to on the way. Unanswered questions lead in strange directions, and a war for no reason, is only part of the mystery. But through everything, Thorn carries two themes. The guilty will be punished, and there will be peace! Yesterday was just the start. 

All Thorn wanted was to be a Battle Mage. He had the talent, and his whole future was before him. On the day of Choosing, he finds things don't always go as planned. Suddenly Thorn's life is thrown into fast forward, and he finds himself in a world not of his own choosing. In a world of spaceships and blasters, instead of horses and swords, Thorn needs to adapt and survive, make new allies, and rediscover that although nothing is familiar, he's still a Mage, and pirates and slavers beware.

What could possibly go wrong with accepting an invitation from an ally? As the war comes to an end, Jonathon Hunter sees the good and bad sides to being considered the hero, but which is which? All he wants to do is go home, but home isn't any closer than it was a month ago, and this time, he's going the long way around. A hero's work is never done, and with the stakes never being higher before, just how much paranoia is not enough?

Jonathon Hunter is a long way from home and intent on getting back to track down his unknown adversary. But local problems intrude - an annoyance becomes a real threat. Trading one war for another wasn't in his game plan, but you do what has to be done to keep others alive. Jonathon isn't playing one of his computer games any more, and the save button only works by putting your life on the line. When the odds are stacked against you, there is only one thing left to do. Thorn is back. He's lost one civilization, and is still trying to fix two others. But fixing something when you don't know how it broke is never as simple as you'd think. The future is threatened by his own past, and to fix everything, he thinks he has to undo what he's already done. But what if what you did cannot be undone, and the future has more riding on it than anyone knows? Yesterday's Spacemage was the cause. Today's Spacemage was the effect. But can tomorrow's Spacemage save everyone?

Jon Hunter has made it home. But a lot of things have happened to him over the last year. Some of them made no sense at all to those with him, but they accepted the really weird as if it was part of him. Jon himself didn't understand a lot of it, but accepted he wasn't allowed to know yet. But what really happened, and why? For 600 odd years, Hunter's have traveled space. Where did it all start? What were the events which shaped the galaxy Jon Hunter finds himself in? And what of the previous Jon Hunter's, mentioned in prophecy?  

There's no such thing as a dull life for Jon Hunter. He's come to grips with being an Admiral. But why does someone want to keep him from becoming a Duke so badly, that collateral damage doesn't matter? The Midgard war is over, the British coup behind him, but war comes in many forms. Life isn't the same when you fly a desk, unless the desk comes under direct attack.

Liza Pound has pulled on one too many tails. And no-one likes their tail being pulled, especially tigers. In the grand scheme of things, the foxes were never a serious threat. But now there is a real threat, and they've taken notice of who is now their biggest threat.

Liza Pound needs a solution to her Fox problem. They simply will not stop coming at her. But as her list of friends expands, so too does her list of enemies. And the more ships she gets to react with, the more get thrown at her to react to. It's time to stop reacting. Now is the time for some serious Tail Pulling.

Liza Pound is feeling the bullseye on her back. But does she really know how big it actually is? The foxes have put a serious bounty on her head. And they want it, literally, in someone's freezer. Even a routine League mission now can set off a chain of events. And once begun, the Killer Bunny will have to become something more. Now she's Nemesis Rising.

Liza Pound now has more than she ever wanted. And a lot she didn't. Like a bullseye painted on her back. She's stuck a stick in the local "ant hill," and the foxes are not happy about it. The Keerah are too busy fighting themselves to control the foxes, and someone else doing it was not in anyone's hunt plan.

Liza Pound has what she wanted. Just not how she expected to have it. Or where. She thought her fox fighting days were over. She was wrong. But she has no idea just how wrong she is. She now owns the call sign Killer Bunny. But where she's going, she needs Black Sheep.

Liza Pound is a mystery to her superiors. In training she showed no aggression at all. In combat the first time she topped the kill board. And kept doing it. No one can figure out why. She did the unthinkable, and left Navy Mage Five for the League of Worlds. They want her back. She wants squadron command of the Black Sheep, and has worked hard for it. But when has what anyone wanted been part of what happens to them?

The Keerah War is getting personal for the Dragon Host. Their original home world is out there somewhere. Answers which Bud and Willow seek still elude them. And now the tigers have made their job more difficult. The Dragon Host is taking the war to the tigers, and the Imperium must step up to support them. But Bud has a bigger worry. Just how will the Keerah react if they actually find the Dragon Homeworld?

The new Dragon Host goes operational with a mission for the Terrans. But as their numbers and skills rise, so do the questions. Why did the last Host end? Why are dragon kind so scattered? Are there any more to be found? And most importantly, where did the dragons come from originally? But what gets Bud started on all of these is an even deeper mystery. Why do the Keerah fear the dragons and no-one else? The Host must quest for its own past. But for Bud, it's become the Dragon Imperative.

Bud is back, and he's finally in the Keerah war! It is thought that back in the far past, the Dragon Host pillaged the galaxy. But something must have happened for them to lose everything they were. Now they have a champion. Someone who knew he had to bring back two genocide populations of dragon kin. A mage who leveled up in power by doing so. The Imperium learned a hard lesson, and is moving forward. And Bud isn't as angry now. The Keerah war goes on, and the dragons need training. But it seems there's one important thing needed to establish a true Dragon Host.
