13. An Abandoned House: With the help of the priest, Watson investigates Brother Emanuel's abandoned house, where he makes a vital discovery. The Blizzard, however, still keeps him from going back to the Abbey.

When Dr. Watson returns to London from a weekend seminar, he finds hat Sherlock Holmes has been arrested. Inspector Lestrade refers Watson to a questionable psychiatric hospital where Holmes is jailed for mental incapacity.

On behalf of the British Museum Holmes and Watson travel to Wales. A dinosaur skull that was found in a coal mine was stolen before its transport to London. Finding the thief, however, turns out to be a challenge. It seems that the Celtic natives have other plans with the fossil.

15. The Veneration of the Virgin: After a discussion with the Abbot and his Vicar, Watson begins to understand the importance of the veneration of Virgin Mary within the Catholic church. While Holmes's interests wander towards the Abbey's rich collection of relics.

Baron Collingwood's eldest son and title heir dies from a mysterious illness. Now that the second eldest son is also in bad condition, it seems that a curse has befallen the family. Neither doctors nor police are able to find the cause. Confronted with a riddle the Baron hires Holmes and Watson to solve the mystery before it is tool late.

Holmes and Watson travel to Bristol to investigate a murder. In the prestigious Walsingham School, a boarding school for young women of status, where the French teacher was brutally assaulted. Local Police are in the dark and the school principal asks the famous detective and his dear friend Watson from London for help.

Disguised as Diplomats and on behalf of the British Intelligence Holmes and Watson attend the Congo Conference in Berlin. But when a high ranking representative disappears without a trace, the Congress threatens to fail. The German Chancellor, Bismarck, urges Holmes for help.

Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson are assigned to investigate a strange poisoning, and although the relation between the victim, the crime and the motive offer some mystery and surprises, they are able to step by step close in on to solving the case. But then, Holmes' life gets into danger.

It is summer of 1885. The Strauss brothers are staying in London as part of a concert tour. The planned performance in one of the largest concert halls in the Empire is at jeopardy, when a crime occurs involving Johann's violin. His desperate brother Eduard reaches out to Sherlock Holmes for help.

18. The Blood of the Messiah: After Holmes and Watson were able to free themselves, they inform the convents Abbot and Vicar. Both of them are not pleased with losing their sacred blood relic.

When the Crown Prince of Portugal visits London, a precious diamond, the Iguana's Tear, is stolen from him. Faced with the possibility of a devastating financial and political backlash for the Iberian Royal Family, Holmes and Dr. Watson are brought in to investigate matters before they escalate.

12. The Priest of Saint Mary: After a challenging tour, Watson reaches the Anglican church of Saint Mary. The local priest takes him in and also seems to know a lot about Brother Emanuel's past.

Die verlorene Welt (im Original: The Lost World) ist ein 1912 erschienener Roman des britischen Schriftstellers Sir Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Im Zentrum der Erzählung steht die Erkundung eines geheimnisvollen südamerikanischen Plateaus im Dschungel (siehe Tepui), das von Urtieren bewohnt sein soll. Diese erste Folge der Challenger Stories gehört zu den früheren Science-Fiction-Romanen in englischer Sprache, greift jedoch zugleich auch Elemente des Abenteuerromans auf.

Pfarrer Townsend war tot. Die gefesselten Beine des Geistlichen hingen schlaff aus dem Backofen, während sein Oberkörper noch in dem immer noch glühend heißen Ofen steckte. Einziger Hinweis, ein Märchenbuch, dessen aufgeschlagene Seiten das Märchen von Hänsel und Gretel preisgab. Inspektor Wolfford konnte sich darauf keinen Reim machen und zog den Meisterdetektiv zu Rate. Zu diesem Zeitpunkt wussten Holmes und Watson allerdings noch nicht, dass dieses Buch leider nicht das Letzte gewesen sein sollte, das sie auf die Spur des Mörders bringen würde.

Im Sommer 1885 weilt Johann Strauss (Sohn) im Rahmen einer Konzertreise in London. Dem geplanten Auftritt in einer der größten Konzerthallen Englands droht jedoch die Absage, als es im Umfeld des Walzerkönigs zu einem Verbrechen kommt. Johanns verzweifelter Bruder Eduard bittet Sherlock Holmes um Hilfe.

Watson und Mary ziehen vorübergehend in der Baker Street ein, da scheint auch schon der nächste Fall ins Haus zu stehen: Der leitende Architekt der Londoner U-Bahn wittert Sabotage beim Bau der Tunnel. Holmes ist zunächst wenig überzeugt - bis sich in einem von ihnen ein Leichnam findet.

Holmes und Watson reisen nach Bristol, um an der dortigen Walsingham School zu ermitteln. In diesem Internat für Mädchen und junge Damen ist es zu einem Mord gekommen: Die Französischlehrerin ist tot. Da die örtliche Polizei im Dunkeln tappt, bittet der Schuldirektor den berühmten Detektiv aus London um seine Hilfe.
